The Schemm's Visit

Last week Auntie Yvette & her daughter Nikki came to visit.
We so enjoyed spending time with them. I actually basked in some free time while they entertained the older girls and took care of all three girls to make a LONG date day and other outings possible!

Yvette summed up the trip perfectly in an e-mail she sent the day after she arrived home:

"My Top 10 Joyful Moments of the Trip"

1. Seeing Aspen's smile & holding her for the first time (Also getting to feed her. She is your first baby I was able to give a bottle to. Thank you for that! I loved holding her, seeing her giggle & burping her. Did I mention I loved holding her?
She is such a wonderful baby, just like Brinley & Avery)

2. Eating Leah's most favorite delicious carmel corn and having a great talk
around the carmel corn bowl.

3. Going to Graeter's, Chuck E. Cheese and the Water Park with Brinley & Avery

(thank you for allowing me to spend time with just them)

4. A NEW SWINGSET!!!

5. Avery saying "thankful game!" and always wanting to say the prayer.
6. Reading books with Brinley.

7. The reaction when the girls opened their gifts. Hearing Avery scream "IT'S SLEEPING BEAUTY!!!!" when she saw the book will forever be etched in my memory. So priceless.

Seeing them in their nightgowns was so cute as well.

8. Seeing firsthand the OSU mania.
Looking & laughing at every conceivable Buckeye anything at The Buckeye Corner Store.

9. Pink tulips. How did Leslie know those were my favorite?

10. My new microwave saucepan - I used it last night to steam cauliflower! It is wonderful!

We LOVE you guys!

Happy Valentines Day

Dear Mom,
The Cookie Decorating Party lives on and on and on!
This year we invited the Johnson, Haws & Christensen families.

Avery had managed to eat several bites of her cookie before the decorating began.

Go HERE to see last years party.

This is my good friend Ang as I call her. She is pregnant with baby #4 and it's a BOY,
his name is Cameron and he will join us in June.

I even take the ceremonial cookie pictures just like you did all those years and like
you STILL do each year at your cookie parties which we miss.

Nollie, Andy, Angie, Cody, Drew and Jen. Where was Cory (Angie's husband)?
Oh yea, he is a resident meaning he was at his home away from home, the hospital.

Then your sweetie pie son-in-law created this candy surprise for the girls early this morning before he left for work. When we opened the blinds they were thrilled with Daddy's creation and exclaimed "This is just amazing."

Before we rushed out the door to the gym I made some pink pancakes for breakfast for our Valentines breakfast!

Love ya Mom!

PS- The second Belize post was awesome. I loved all the pictures.

Go HERE to see them!

Hungry?

Sometimes lunch is simple...
peas & yogurt.
Simple is not in Avery's vocabulary...

so she created her own twist.

And this incredible double rainbow shed forth it's beauty that very night!

Introducing...

my husband, click HERE, who I absolutely love for not only being an incredible radiologist but also for making our kids healthy dinners like this one a few nights ago.

Last night when I mentioned linking the OSU page to our blog

Cody said that if I did he would erase the post.

So just in case this post disappears you can blame it on the Mr. and hopefully this little explanation will deter him from further action.

The Thankful Game

Each night as we sit around our dinner table we play "The Thankful Game,"

at which time we take turns sharing something we are

thankful for that day.

Our girls have come to love this little game.

Avery makes sure towards the beginning of most meals to proclaim with exuberance

"time for the fankful game."

This game also presents Cody and I with an opportunity to teach our girls

about people living in less fortunate circumstances.

Last night Brinley was thankful for water.

Cody then talked about families in places like Africa who have to walk many miles to obtain water, which is not clean like ours, and then they have to walk back home carrying

the water in big buckets on top of their heads.

Our church provides humanitarian aid to people throughout the world

every hour of every day.

Because we are all sons and daughter of a loving Father in Heaven we are also all brothers and sisters. We feel it a duty and privilege to do our best to help care for all of God's children.

To learn more about the Humanitarian efforts

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints go HERE

Today I am thankful for my healthy legs & feet. I am also thankful that my daughter's club foot can be treated by Doctors with a technique that will completely correct it.
