More April Projects

A few more April projects include:

A bridal shower "advice book" for my cousin Robyn who is getting married in May.

My Mom said it was completely filled with advice from guests at the bridal shower she hosted for Robyn in the beginning of the month.

I also sent along Hershey bar party favors for the shower guests!
We love you Robyn & Kevin, good luck in May...and might I just add that you my dear Robyn look absolutely gorgeous in your wedding announcement!

Hoppy Easter...a little late!

Growing up we ALWAYS colored real eggs, twelve each. Then after finding them we would sit outside and have a breakfast picnic of hard boiled eggs and the wee bit of candy that our Easter Bunny brought to a health conscious house.

We have carried this tradition on in our growing family. This year we scaled back to 6 eggs each and added a few plastic eggs to the hunt.
On Saturday we attended an Easter egg hunt at Brinley's gymnastics's facility. Avery's wishes so badly that she could be in gymnastics's like her big sister, so this was a good chance for her to play around on some of the equipment.

We have enjoyed a few Christ centered activities and stories in an effort to teach our children about the real reason we celebrate Easter.
When asked at the dinner table (after much talk of Christ's Resurrection) "Why do we celebrate Easter?" Avery shouted out "Because we celebrate the Easter Bunny!"
So I guess we still have a ways to go.

For dinner we enjoyed a delicious ham, funeral potatoes and asparagus.
Aspen enjoyed Daddy's hairy arm.

The end.

Family Night Smoothies

As members of the Church of Latter Day Saints all families are encouraged to set aside one night a week (typically Monday's) for "Family Home Evening." This is a time to learn and grow together. To spend time having fun and strengthening family bonds.

This week we had a lesson about the true meaning of Easter.
Then we enjoyed some good 'ole family jumping time on the trampoline (Aspen actually loved it) For treats I made fresh banana/blueberry smoothies.
A misconception about our faith is that we are not Christian.
See HERE for clarification.
