Wax Museum & Woolleys

Recently Avery participated in the 2nd grade wax museum event at school.

She was Elizabeth Blackwell.

Avery was able to give her presentation to her classmates at school
and also numerous times during the wax museum night.

We also were fortunate to have another visit from Austin and Jen Woolley.

We just love them and are so thankful that they get to come
visit our family when they go to the temple here in Columbus.

This time around Austin brought his guitar...big brownie points!

We had a wonderful time making up songs together and listening to him sing and play,
both he and Jen have lovely voices. It was a real treat!

Big Girls

Brinley was required to read 40 chapter books during this year of school...
she is now on her 87th chapter book since!
She is providing a wonderful example to her younger siblings of how fun reading can be.

Aspen sits by her big sisters with chapter book in hand and
diligently "reads" right alongside them.
She is certainly preparing to enjoy reading someday.

Brinley and Avery switched rooms this week,
this has been a long anticipated event.

Next year Brinley will start school at 7:30am sharp and will be getting on the bus at around 7:10am, hence the need for her to no longer be sharing a room with Aspen.

A while back our Wii took a vacation...a mother and father sanctioned vacation.
Even though the girls really only play on Saturday morning after chores,
the play was becoming a bit too emotionally charged.

After a few weeks of Wii vacation the girls came to us with this plea:

Bless our persistent children. They did not receive the Wii back right away, but when they did we reassured them that we would hold them accountable to their "declaration,"
and it is now prominently placed on the front of the fridge!

Little Girls

We volunteered to make a big batch of green play dough for Aspen's preschool class last week.
It was FUN...so we decided to make more a few days later to have at home.

We added glitter to our "at home" batch.
It was really fun for Aspen and Reese to play with for all of 5 minutes.

After I took the picture of Aspen with her pink play dough circle Reese insisted that I take a picture of her doing something cool with her play dough ball. She quickly smashed it under her chin and said "take picture take picture."

Reese and Aspen recently got haircuts.

 The stylist recommended some
major layers to help Aspen's hair be a bit more tame.
Reese ended up with some stacked layers too.
